This ancient and gentle Chinese art of movement promotes mind-body connection and improves balance, coordination and overall health and vitality. It is practiced today by millions worldwide with students of all ages. Your instructor, Steve Kurimai, has studied for 16 years with WaterWheel Tai Chi, and has taught for many years at senior centers and for continuing education programs in Connecticut. These classes are for beginning and intermediate students 18 years or older.Note: Steve will offer 3 opportunities for your participation, between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
An Evening of Dogs
Learn from an expert! This one-night class is your opportunity to ask questions about everything DOG--from mutt vs. purebred, to where to get your dog, to training techniques. Your instructor, Bette Isacoff, is a Pet Coach for PETCO’s online information service, petMD, which provides answers to consumer questions about such things as pet health, breeds, products, training, nutrition and behavior.

This one-evening class will teach you the true facts about the pros and cons of dogs from breeders, shelters, pet shops, and newspapers; understand the important differences between purebreds and mixed breeds or so-called “designer” breeds; and discover the dark side of rescue. Find out which dog might be best for you, and what age and gender. Get training tips to ease your new dog into the family.
CPR - Adult, Child, and Infant/AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Would you know what to do in a cardiac, breathing or first aid emergency? The right answer could help you save a life. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, this CPR/AED course gives you the skills to save a life. Learn how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in Adults, Infants and Children, including the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED). Learn to recognize symptoms, care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies, and how to prioritize care for injuries and sudden illnesses. You will also learn to identify the links in the Cardiac Chain of Survival. Participants need to bring cash, or a check, payable to instructor, in the amount of $40 for materials and certification card. ($20 if no card is needed). NOTE: If participants are enrolling in both CPR and Standard First Aid, the book fee is only paid once. Contact instructor at 203-433-4050 if this is the case.Participants will receive CPR certificate, (valid for 1 year). Please bring a towel on which to kneel.
