Have you had a significant life experience that is fascinating, inspiring, educational, informative, or just plain funny? Is yours a tale that begs to be told? Study the art and craft of memoir writing in this eight-week course with published memoir author Bette Isacoff. Learn how to present your life story in a way that will draw in and hold the reader’s attention from start to finish. See your work turn from a recitation of facts to a rich, colorful narrative. Depending on the interests of class members, the details of editing, publishing and marketing may be covered to a greater or lesser degree.
This is a gentle-but-firm, positive reinforcement-based, beginner obedience training class. The AKC exercises - sit, stay, come, heel, figure eight, down, and stay will be used as the basis for enhancing the relationship between you and your dog. Individual problems will be addressed. One 2-hour session of "people-only" classroom discussion about how dogs think and how they learn will be held at Amity Regional High School. This will be followed by seven 1-hour sessions of group work with your dog, held at the Orange Community Center on Orange Center Road in Orange. Approved collar and lead required, as well as proof of current rabies vaccination. Class limited to ten dogs so register early! A second class may be added if there are additional dogs that would be the same dates and start right after the first session that will be from 8pm to 9pm.
AMITY SUMMER THEATER CAMP 2021
Amity Summer Theater Camp- Back in Time! We are back!!!!! Established in 2008, the Amity Theatre Summer Camp is a 1/2 day performing arts program for children grades two through high school. Our campers explore and develop their artistic talents in an atmosphere of encouragement, enrichment and fun. Students engage in daily activities such as Acting, Improv, Musical Theatre Choreography, and voice. The camp also holds many fun summer activities like share days, theme days, movie days and our world famous camp olympics. The camp runs from weekdays July 6th to July 30th from 8am to 12pm. The camp will also feature a fun Share Day performance for campers' families! Covid Protocols will be followed and we promise to provide a fun yet safe experience for our campers. Adventures in Babysitting
Adventures in Babysitting This course will take you through the dynamics of babysitting. We will cover aspects of babysitting that will help you be professional, make decisions, safety, hands only CPR and first aid and more. As the one in charge you need to have different tools in your babysitting bag. This class will help you with the on the job skills you need. Certification for CPR and First Aid will follow the course from 12:00noon to 1:00p.m and is through the American Heart Association. There is an additional fee of $40.00 for the certification card. You will need to register for both classes if you would like the CPR and First Aid certification. Friends and Family - CPR/First Aid Only The CPR and First Aid certification is open to family and friends of those enrolled in the 9am-12pm course and can register for certification only, from 12pm-1pm.
