We will be practicing Yoga Nidra during this course. Yoga Nidra is a type of meditation, and as with other forms of meditation, we bring our attention to the present moment. Yoga Nidra translates into sleep meditation and is typically done lying down. While you remain awake, I will guide you through a series of effortless techniques to allow your body to relax and your brainwaves to progressively slow down all the way to the slowest brainwave state that we experience during deep sleep. In this state, it becomes easier to disengage from our thoughts and simply rest in awareness. These sessions are designed not only to provide the restorative benefits of sleep, but to help you cultivate a healthier relationship to your thoughts and your ability to respond, rather than react, to the experiences of your life.
